Out and about Kinsale. |

Kinsale is a really great Tourist centre so there is always something going on. Every historian will love the excellently preserved star-forts at Charles Fort and James Fort, and the local museum is a little gem. Sports enthusiasts are spoiled - sailing, angling, golf and much, much more. Of course Kinsale has always been a centre for the Arts and Crafts so there is plenty to hold your attention if you are interested in this. Local book shops have great little booklets on local scenic walks in the area.
A short walk from the Waterside
takes you to the Marsh's bird sanctuary. The site of the "Battle
of Kinsale" quietly keeps its dark secrets just o
The magnificent Old
Head of Kinsale Golf course is a very, very short drive from the Waterside.
There are two other Golf courses even nearer. Kinsale is the Mecca for
shark fishing and Deep Sea Angling boats await on the riverside for their
next charter. In Summertime, a harbour cruise is another way of seeing
the sights. The two busy marinas in Kinsale are favourite stopping over
point for the water-weary or drink-deficient sailors. Try a cruise about Kinsale harbour. They run almost every hour in high Summer. If you are a river fisherman or a sea angler take note! Just outside the Waterside is an excellent location for crab and lugworm. Also, sea angling charters are available in the nearby marina - just a 10 minute walk from the Waterside. Kinsale has 3 great Golf clubs, a "Blue Flag" beach in GaryLucas - which is great for windsurfing, and - well so much it needs some research.
